WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO
Our latest excavation was March 25th, 2001 in Larimer County, CO.

We had been working this cliff wall, and there are many little caves to explore here. The one we were working on was just large enough for me to fit my upper body only, and no room to swing a hammer! All I could do was watch from the inside to make sure the excavation process didn't disturb our prizes! We stood on a "footledge" that was about 8 inches wide. Hard work!]
Below, you can see why we were persistent in getting to these crystals!

If you look in the middle of the photo, you can see the crystal plate layer of dogtooth calcite all clustered together! The entire orifice was lined in calcite crystal. We could only reach this plate with a very long prybar. Below are some specs that came out of this orifice.
